      Our Mainframe Application support service incorporates elements from the entire application management life cycle. This includes mainframe application reliability, architecture design, consulting, testing and performance tuning. We also provide specialized health checks, tools implementation and maintenance support services. We can also provide performance tuning after application migration and or system cutover.

       

    1. Mainframe application system architecture evaluation and design consulting service.

  • Evaluate whether the application system requires logic changes.
  • Evaluate business development trends and any potential bottlenecks, based on mainframe system capacity and available resources in other related areas
  • Evaluate whether the application environment meets the business development requirements.

       

      2. Mainframe application system testing support

    • Assist the customer to complete the mainframe application system testing and resolve and document any problems.
    • The goal is to improve the testing quality and reduce the possibility of subsequent errors in the production environment.

      Our goal is to assist the customer to determine application system performance problems and provide recommendations to improve system performance and reduce resource consumption. We also wish to improve the problem determination and performance analysis skills of the customer test team.

     

    3. Provide Onsite technical support for mainframe application system critical events.

  • Ensure that the application resources (CICS, VSAM, DB2) and system resources (CPU, DASD, IO, CF ) and capacity are available to meet the requirements during special periods.
  • Ensure that transactions and batch jobs run successfully during special periods.. Monitor the system in order to perform proactive problem determination and minimize any potential impact to the system.
  • During new application migration ensure that application and system resources meet capacity requirements. Cooperate with the customer to complete all required migration steps, and focus on applications monitoring during and after the migration to find problems, and minimize the any possible negative impact.

     

    4. Mainframe application system maintenance, including CICS, DB2, VSAM and batch.

  • Provide daily system maintenance and monitoring in order to eliminate any potential risks in production application system execution.
  • Provide timely problem determination and document all problems as they occur.
  • Provide a methodology for the evaluation of key indicators to ensure system stability and efficiency. Determine the appropriate thresholds for these indicators in order to facilitate a proactive method to monitor system performance and increase system availability.

     

    5. Mainframe application system problem analysis and diagnosis

    Our goal is to provide CICS problem determination excellence to our customers. Using available tools we can evaluate the origin of the problem either in the system, core subsystems, or applications.

    If a system problem is found, we provide recommendations and offer any possible bypasses. If an application problem is found we can analyze application programs and or data. We can recommend any necessary changes.

     

    6. Mainframe performance evaluation and tuning for the online environment as well as batch processing.

    Provide performance tuning evaluation to reduce the response time of online transactions and minimize the elaspsed time window for batch processing.

     

    7. Implementation, maintenance and usage of mainframe application software tools

    Software tools are used to facilitate program development and program testing. Tools for the online environment may include program conversion tools, testing tools, monitoring tools, and operations management tools for data backup. Tools for the batch environment may include a monitoring tool, batch job scheduling tool, and an operations management tool for data backup and file transmission. We can facilitate our customers use of these tools by providing regular health checks, PTF implementation, and skills transfer training.

     

    8. Mainframe system and application health check and performance tuning service.

  • Analyze and validate the current environment of the mainframe application system, to determine whether the system environment is suitable for the best possible application performance.
  • Analyze transaction response time, CPU usage and batch performance in order to provide suggestions to improve online and batch performance.
